This exceptional program, now in its 17th year, is led by 532Yoga Studio owner, Suzanne Leitner-Wise. Suzanne, and a faculty of expert instructors will guide you through a training program that will open doors of opportunity for personal transformation, transform your practice, and give you the professional knowledge, confidence and skill to be an exceptional yoga instructor!
We will build a solid foundation of poses and provide you with safe and effective sequences so you can teach classes safely, and with confidence.
Our training allows you to understand that each person is unique, so you learn to see beyond what a pose 'should' look like, and be able to teach from a functional perspective.
From day one, this training will guide you through proper techniques, including key alignments, modifications, variations, contraindications, use of props, the art of adjustment, and teaching methodology along with practice teaching, so you are ready, prepared, and confident to teach directly following your training.
"Yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory" - Sri K. Pattabhi Jois
Our team of first class teachers are committed to supporting your process of self discovery and to providing a structure for your journey through the practice, promoting non-duality, compassion, and safety. Your teachers are fun, caring, and supportive. Their wide and deep expertise will teach you everything you need to know to be a confident and skilled teacher.
Our goal is to support our students as they develop, deepen, appreciate and expand their yoga practice and understanding of their true Self. Our goal is to give you the tools to be able to teach a full balanced practice, from dynamic to restorative, so you will be able to teach more than one style of yoga.
Our three main teachers have over 50 years experience between them.
WHAT STYLE OF YOGA WILL I LEARN?
The program draws on key elements from the most traditional and influential schools of yoga, combining multiple sources of inspiration, so you can cultivate your own individual teaching style. We focus on alignment, a key factor in being able to teach all populations clearly and safely. The program is based on and developed from Suzanne's own Iyengar Yoga training, Kayla's extensive work on physical therapy, and Ginny's expertise in incorporating and modifying practices to suit the individual. We believe that yoga is for every 'body' and that every practice can be tailored to suit, so we make sure you are well informed on the foundations of the poses, the therapeutic applications, use of props to assist your students' learning, and contraindications.
Our approach is modern, therapeutic, challenging, supportive, and steeped in tradition.

"I think this is THE program in the DC-metro area for serious practitioners and new teachers eager to learn more about the art of teaching and the practice of yoga. The teachers are generous, daily practitioners and passionate about their craft. Their enthusiasm and insight helped refine my personal practice and gave me the tools to teach (to students of all levels) with a deep respect for the natural workings of the body. While challenging, mentally, physically and emotionally, I felt excited to learn each session and inspired to honor the practices. Each teacher made him/herself available for answering questions as my practice evolved and as I found my footing teaching. I feel lucky and grateful to have been a trainee. Suzanne and Mary are gems and worthy of the title "teachers of teachers."
"The 532Yoga Teacher Training Program is an exceptional, comprehensive program that has given me the gift of self-awareness, better asana alignment, expanded understanding of yoga as a lifestyle, inspirational teachers and wonderful new friends; all of which I will treasure for the rest of my life".
"This teacher training is a true gift to any person who wants to deepen their practice, not only of yoga, but of life, of teaching, and of self."
"Suzanne has a gift for teacher training that ranks her among the best out there! She is a fountain of expertise, intuition, and patience. Her team of teachers bring a fantastic knowledge and variety to a fun, comprehensive, and challenging program!"
Graduates from this program and current 532Yoga teachers include Ginny Loving, Mary Richards, Maia Worden, Melanie Rowland, Aleasa Chiles,
Lauren Carstensen, and Colleen Cronin.
